Need to edit a spreadsheet in a long flight? Is it absolutely imperative to update your site via an FTP client? Ultimately, you need to control your office when you're not there?
Such professionals need an iPhone and we present a new selection of application for entrepreneurs and small business owners. In total ten applications that I find useful.
The entrepreneurs need to stay connected during their holidays. If they are on the beach, either in the tranquility of a rural surrounding, they always need to find a place to check their e-mails, make an important call, review some documents ... Until recently they needed to bring a laptop, the battery charger, and a mouse for easy navigation.
Fortunately, mobile technology has evolved recently, it is sufficient to carry just an iPhone that can control virtually everything that happens in the office when one is on holiday. Today, we offer a compilation of some of the most interesting applications for our beloved iPhone.
iTerminal - Terminal Credit App
iTerminal is an application that allows us to turn our iPhone in a POS (Point of Sale Terminal). The free distribution accepts payment cards (Visa, Master Card, and American Express). To use this application, the charge is a minimum of $25 per month. For every transaction is charged a commission of 30 cents plus 2.29% of the purchase. The bad news is that currently the application is marketed only in United States. For Australians, you could try iCCPay, which boasts similar features and supports Australian payment gateways and currency.
EnCamp
BaseCamp has become an online application for project management and collaboration used in many companies around the world. These application users already know its benefits and how it exceeds the majority of the alternatives we can find on the market, both commercial and non-commercial. EnCamp is the iPhone version of BaseCamp. Encamp allows us to access the basic functions such as BaseCamp projects, messages between team members, task lists, deadlines etc .... The application shows us a summary of your active projects as well as a historical report of what you have developed.
FlightTrack Pro
If as a result of our work we must travel by plane frequently, FlightTRack Pro is one of those applications that make the iPhone useable in these conditions. This utility reports in real time the status of the flight: the delay, if you have last minute changes, if you changed the gate, and so on. It also informs of other very useful data such as if there has been a cancellation, and what are the possible schedules / alternative flights with which we can count on next. Perhaps the only limitation is that we have no access to information on all the flights that may be of interest. To start using the application, we must send an email to This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it (this email address is protected from spam). You need to enable JavaScript to view the confirmation. Once these simple steps are done, the application works like a dream.
mbPointer
With this application we no longer need to bring our laptop with us when we need to make a PowerPoint presentation. With this application we can save our presentations, and connecting to another computer via Wi-Fi we can make the presentation. This is a very interesting software package to make a presentation. And the application not only allows us to start a presentation, but thanks to the touch screen on the iPhone, we have a virtual pointer with which we can to control our PowerPoint "live."
Analytics App
If you can’t live your life without daily access to the statistics of your website, your will be delighted to know there is an Analitycs Apps. This application can be defined as the iPhone version of Google Analytics, a free service of the most popular web statistics application. The application provides access to most of the features found in the desktop version. Thus, we have the opportunity to see over 47 different types of reports, and the application can manage multiple accounts simultaneously.
For many, the social network LinkedIn is the world's largest professional network. If we are active users of this network, it is difficult, as an iPhone user, to be "disconnected" for a long time. This is the mobile version of LinkedIn where we can see the profile of all members in our contact networks, send messages, and change your status messages.
Quickoffice Mobile Office Suite
Many iPhone applications allow us to store our documents, but few are able to transform our smart phone into a virtual office. With Quickoffice you can not only store files created with Microsoft Office, but most importantly, you can edit or create new ones from scratch if desired. It is not really easy to use a spreadsheet on an iPhone, but it is useful to have this device to make a few corrections, minor adjustments, or just review the last document we sent.
ClockIn
As its name suggests, ClockIn is an application that allows us to measure how much time we spend working on each of our projects. ClockIn has the ability to work with several projects simultaneously and can establish different categories and customers. Thanks to this utility we will know how much it takes to make a small correction a client asked us while we were sunbathing on the beach.
eBay Mobile
Many SMEs in Australia have their own sales operations on eBay. To meet their needs when they are outside the office, eBay created Mobile, an application that among other things, give us the chance to know the status of our sales, to answer to all possible questions that our customers can ask. It is expected that in the near future the application will create new auctions and include payments.
EverNote
For the best personal productivity we can use this application at the moment: EverNote. Everybody must use it; we warmly recommended it. The iPhone version allows us to see the notes online, to capture new ones (this can be a text, an image or a voice) as well as synchronize these notes with other computers.
