The New 24-Hour Detoxification Diet

A diet for detoxification in 24 hours can be very beneficial when our body needs an urgent fix. Here is a quick way to detoxify incorporating a cleansing diet and medicinal plants.

Our way of life is characterized, among other things, with excess food. We can always see this as reality when we face a mirror. There is, however, an excellent system to recover our physical form: a diet for detoxification in under 24 hours, free of protein.

Obviously, the best day to perform it is on a Saturday or Sunday, a day which we dedicate to resting or relaxing activities: reading, television or small trips.

To have an effective diet, it is necessary to drink plenty of water and eat fruit rich in fiber in order to detoxify the digestive system.

It is advisable to favor the consumption of fruit rich in vitamin C (oranges, lemons, grapefruits or tangerines) and mint because it is extremely beneficial for its digestive and tonic properties. Carrots are helpful because it is rich in fiber and cellulose. This is particularly helpful to the intestine.

This diet should not extend for longer than 24 hours due to a lack of protein which is needed daily for our body to function well. However, if you decide to follow the diet for the entire weekend, you can add yogurt for dinner, a piece of cheese or a glass of milk, and 100 grams of ham for lunch on Saturday or Sunday.

When you get out of bed, drink a couple of glasses of water, containing a squeezed half a lemon.

Guidelines

Breakfast: grapefruit juice mixed with mint leaves and a little sugar, honey or better. You can have a coffee or tea and something light like a fruit salad prepared with two or three mandarins and a kiwi.

Lunch: puree based on three cucumbers and carrots cooked by steaming. It is preferable to make the mixture on a plate with a fork so as not to overcook it causing loss in nutrients. Complete the meal with a fruit salad of oranges and grapefruits adding chopped mint leaves, lemon juice and some sugar, or better, a sweetener. To drink, juice half a cucumber and add a glass of water with lemon.

Dinner: soup with carrots. A fruit salad with a mango, a kiwi, mandarins and three chopped fresh mint leaves. Use the same drink as in lunch.

Between hours: Drink large glasses of water with lemon and orange juice mixed with grapefruit every hour. Occasionally chew mint leaves.

Before going to bed: one cup of lime or an infusion made from orange blossom petals.

Very important: The fruit and vegetable juices should be consumed immediately as waiting too long will cause the vitamins to oxidize hence losing their potency.
