The Weight Watchers Diet is a system which emerged in New York. It was created by the trading company Weight Watchers International with the participation of American nutrition experts. It is already widespread in the United States and in some other countries as well.
This diet suggests the assistance of a general practitioner where they should submit their diet plans and other materials needed. This type of diet is recommended for at least 16 weeks and can reach weight loss range of above 5 kg.
Sample Weight Watcher Menu
Breakfast:
- Any fruit and choose between 1 egg or 30g of hard cheese or semi-hard cheese.
- 30 g of cereals, 120 g of skim milk
- 30 g of fish, chicken, beef or boiled
- One serving of bread
- Mineral water
Lunch:
- Choose from 120 grams of meat (chicken or fish) or 240 grams cooked vegetables
- 30 grams of bread
- Mineral water
Dinner:
- Choose from 90 to 120 grams of poultry, meat or fish.
- Two eggs, 60 g of hard cheese or semi, 180 g. cooked vegetables, vegetables, a small portion of bread (avoid it if already eaten at midday)
- Mineral Water
Daily:
- A pint of milk, fat (three portions at meals), a tablespoon of margarine, corn or sunflower, a tablespoon of mayonnaise, vegetable oil as a dressing (corn, sunflower, grape, soy and sesame). Olive oil is not indicated, but is allowed once daily to replace one of the salad dressings, for oil.
- Three servings of fruit (one in the morning and the other two when desired).
- Lunch and dinner are interchangeable.
Guidelines
- You should never skip a meal.
- Follow the given quantities strictly.
- You can take tea and decaffeinated coffee without sugar (possibly with some artificial sweetener).
- Alcohol is prohibited.
Pros:

- This diet plan is not boring because it proposes alternative foods.

- You can supplement with vitamins, minerals and trace elements, and antioxidants.
Cons:
- Takes a lot of time especially because you have to weigh each portion you eat.
- You can generate psychological damage because it seems that we live to eat. Life revolves around meals.
- Weight loss is very slow. Thus, the incidence of abandonment is high.
