If your sliding door is damaged or is notFixing the sliding door working very well then replacing it is not the only solution. Repairing a sliding screen door is a very simple job and can be done easily. Given below is a list of some common problems and their solutions.

Door Gets Stuck:

This problem occurs mainly because of the bad roller wheels. The roller wheels are made of a substandard plastic which is fragile and cannot take so much weight and all this happens because the manufacturer compromised the quality of the plastic used.

Sometime the material used is not even tested for weather conditions so mostly what happens is that under high temperature the plastic becomes more fragile and breaks under pressure. And if this happens then while opening your sliding screen door you are dragging it through the slot which will create friction and that is why the door gets stuck.

The solution to this problem is you should buy new rolling wheels which are available from any hardware stores and are not that expensive too. Just see that the brackets of the rolling wheel are the same as the previous one. Now what you have to do is take the sliding door out of the way and remove the old rollers by detaching from brackets using a screw driver. Place the new rolling wheels and your door will be sliding as good as a new one.

Another possible reason might be that there is dust in the roller slot. To remove the dusts take the door out of the way and dust it away using a brush or vacuum it out and your door will be sliding again smoothly.

Door Keep Falling Out:

The reason for this might be that your sliding door is short and that is why it keeps on getting dislodged from the slot. If this situation occurs with your sliding door you don't have to worry at all as all sliding doors comes with adjustable heights. There is a screw at the top and bottom of the sliding door and in order to adjust it all you have to do is loosen that screw and adjust you door to the required height.

These are the two most common problems with sliding doors and their solutions. Now you will be able to fix your sliding doors easily.
