GM Gilbert Passin
The newly hired employee of Tesla is Mr. Gilbert Passin, who was working as general manager of production engineering for Toyota Motor Engineering & Manufacturing North America’s West Coast operations. He was working at Toyota’s soon-to-close Corolla and Tacoma pickup plant in Fremont, California, New United Motor Manufacturing Inc.
Passin is also former vice president of manufacturing at Toyota Motor Manufacturing Canada Inc. in Cambridge, Ontario. In that capacity, he was in charge of the production of the Corolla as well as the Lexus RX 350, the only Lexus built outside of Japan.
