The 2011 Citroen DS3 has yet to be released in Australia but Citroen is already working on a high performance version of their upcoming hot hatch.
Slated to be released in Europe in 2011, the Citroen DS3 R3 is to take on the likes of the Renault Clio RS and MINI Cooper S.
Driven by a 1.6L turbocharged petrol engine produced by BMW and Citroen, the R3 boasts an extra 15kW of power under the hood giving a 0-100km/h time of approximately 6 seconds. Where as the standard Citroen DS3 does the job with 115kW in 7.3 seconds.
Depending on the popularity of the upcoming DS3 here in Australia, it will be easier to gauge whether Citroen will consider bringing the suped-up R3 version as well.
