Netbooks are ideal for simple tasks like browsing the web, watching movies and light work. While a laptop is recommended for "heavier" jobs, many individuals are finding the netbook's lighter weight, more affordable price and longer battery life a fair trade-off.

What is going on at HP? The HP website is now displaying a special page for what is called the HP Slate 500. A tablet resembling the HP Slate which we thought was dumped for the Palmpad just yesterday.

HP has just officially filed for trademark for the name Palmpad, clearing up rumors that the HP Slate may still utilize the Windows 7 platform. Obviously signaling that their upcoming tablet will feature WebOS, the filing also dismisses earlier reports of the HP-Palm tablet being called the Hurricane.

The second generation iPad is apparently making its way to production already, with a release date slated for as early as the 4th quarter of this year.

Cisco Cius, the 7-inch tablet which was introduced by Cisco recently aimed at business enterprises is believed to provide a tough competition to the Apple iPad as it might steal the corporate customers of the later tablet.

Obama recently criticized the iPad along with a couple of other tech gadgets, leading to an outcry by the techworld. While it was safe to assume that the President's words would in no way deter consumers from spending big dollars on such products, one would not have expected the same from his chief of staff Rahm Emanuel.

We are sure that by now everyone is aware that AT&T will be ceasing their $29.99 unlimited data plan for the iPad starting June 6th. From June 7th onwards, iPad customers will need to opt for the next closet plan i.e. $23.99 2G plan.
